Summary of Job Duties
The Custodial Night Shift Manager will assist the Director of Building Services with interviewing/hiring/terminating staff; will supervise Night Shift Coordinators of Housekeeping; and will oversee night shift building inspections. This position will also be responsible for snow/ice removal during winter months. Other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least five years of experience in one or more skilled trades, including one year supervising skilled and/or semi-skilled workers

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least six years of custodial experience in the commercial/corporate industry plus two years supervisory experience


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance techniques and equipment
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques
  • Knowledge of state purchasing procedures
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to conduct on-site inspections to determine compliance of work with departmental standards and regulations
  • Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of lower-level supervisors, skilled, and semi-skilled workers
  • Ability to maintain adequate supplies and inventory records
