Job Summary:
The Getty College of Arts and Sciences comprises sixteen departments offering over 50 majors that range from the liberal arts to a rich variety of pre-professional and professional programs. The College has a student-faculty ratio of 12:1; faculty and students collaborate closely in undergraduate research, creative works, and professional activities.

Scope:
Tenure Track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor teaching in forensic science courses. Position includes instruction of forensic courses to forensic biology majors, molecular biology majors, and criminal justice option students, and introductory biology students. Demonstrated potential for undergraduate teaching, along with conducting research involving undergraduates, faculty and staff.

Principal Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach courses in forensic science and assist in teaching introductory biology classes. They will mentor and include students in their personal research program, as well as guide them in student research. The candidate is required to develop new internship associations and monitor students during their senior capstone. Academic advising and participation in faculty governance is expected.

Required Skills:
Graduate experience in analytical toxicology or forensic toxicology.
Familiarity with GCMS , LCMS , FTIR and ELISA .

Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in forensic science with doctoral studies initiated, or a Ph.D./Ed.D. in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry or closely related field.
- Research experience in a field of forensic science.
- Rank commensurate with experience and credentials.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level and research experience with undergraduates. Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Drug Identification, Forensic Toxicology, Instrumental Analysis, Forensic Science Policies, Chemical Analysis or Forensic DNA Analysis. Additional preferred skills would include: pattern evidence including firearms examination, fingerprint examination, or other pattern evidence with microscopy of hair, fiber and trace evidence. Work experience in a hospital, coroner, or medical examiner's office with chain of custody, proficiency testing, crime laboratory experience in case work, and court room testimony is preferred.
