Research Scientist-Economic Modeling



RESEARCH SCIENTIST, ECONOMIC MODELING, MIT Energy Initiative- MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change , to develop and work with large models of the economy. A major focus of the economic component of the program's research involves development and application of a global multi-sector, multi-region computable general equilibrium (CGE) model and a regional CGE model of the U.S. economy. The MIT Joint Program is developing advanced modeling frameworks to study economic and environmental implications of climate policies and their impacts on different sectors, including agriculture, energy, and transportation. Will work in a team environment using and modifying models.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field; expertise in computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling, GAMS, and MPSGE software; and the demonstrated capability to produce analysis of issues related to the economics of advanced energy technologies. The ability to work with an interdisciplinary group to meet objectives of the broader program is essential. Knowledge of and experience working with large data sets is highly desirable. Experience integrating country-specific and global datasets and models is preferred. Job #14242
