Senior Human Resources Representative



SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES REPRESENTATIVE, Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL), to provide wide-ranging support for human resources administration. Will serve as resource to faculty and staff regarding MIT policies and procedures on HR and international scholars matters; prepare and process HR transactions for faculty staff, students, and visitors; assist AO with recruitment-related matters, including preparing job requisitions, utilizing posting and resume sourcing sites, and ensuring searches are compliant with MIT, School of Engineering and CTL protocol; serve as the liaison to the International Scholars Office, process visa paperwork, and advise faculty and international scholars regarding visa acquisitions and timelines; process visiting student paperwork and maintain tracking spreadsheet; assist managers in developing job descriptions; generate and analyze HR reports using Brio and COGNOS; approve payroll for hourly staff, students, and MITemps; create and maintain confidential employee files and other paper and electronic filing systems; onboard new employees; monitor vacation reports; handle disability and leave requests; and perform other duties as needed.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: minimum of five years' experience in a professional administrative office support position; working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and current human resources' principles and practices; meticulous attention to detail; strong administrative, organizational, and presentation skills; excellent customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; good judgment; initiative; ability to manage multiple diverse tasks simultaneously, work independently and as part of a team, manage confidential information with discretion, and own and follow through on tasks; and proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Bachelor's degree and experience with MIT SAP, SAPweb, and applicant tracking systems preferred. Job #14197-6
