Advertised Salary:

Minimum $55,406 Maximum $91,419 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:

A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited institution of higher education is preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years working as a licensed mechanical engineer or mechanical designer. Ideal breadth of experience will include many building types and remodeling of existing buildings as well as new construction. Experience working with historically significant structures preferred as well.

Provide mechanical engineering expertise in designing and supervising the design of renovations to University facilities (including buildings and physical plant infrastructure) by others. Interpret, design and/or review projects for University facilities subject to regulatory and professional standards, developing cost-benefit analyses comparing construction alternatives, and/or other duties typical of a professional mechanical engineer in an institution of higher education.

License or Certificate:

Registration as a professional engineer or mechanical designer in the State of Wisconsin or registration in another state with reciprocal professional registration obtained in Wisconsin within six months of hire is required.

Valid Wisonsin Driver's License which meets UW Risk Management Standards.
