As a part of an interdisciplinary cluster hire, the University of Utah is seeking applicants for multiple tenure-track or tenured faculty positions (open-rank) related to health policy and health economics. Scholars will add to a consortium that currently brings together faculty from 6 departments across 4 colleges. Researchers in this consortium actively engage in economic and policy evaluation aimed at transforming health care delivery and financing in the context of an evolving demographic, technological and regulatory environment. The University is part of a vibrant healthcare delivery community in Salt Lake City, including a Veterans Affairs hospital, a Level 1 Trauma University Hospital, the Intermountain Healthcare system, the Primary Children's hospital, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, several community clinics and non-profit health care organizations. All candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent, an excellent and sustained record of research, teaching interests in the area, and experience working across disciplines commensurate with their career stage. The search committee will place a high value on a demonstrated ability to generate extramural funding. Based largely on where the successful candidates fit best the faculty appointments will be housed in one or more of the following:

• College of Social and Behavioral Science (Depts. of Economics, Political Science, Family and Consumer Studies, Master of Public Administration, Master of Public Policy)
• School of Medicine (Depts. of Population Health Sciences, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Family and Preventative Medicine, Div. of Health System Innovation and Research, Div. of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes, the Diabetes and Metabolism Center)
• College of Nursing
• College of Pharmacy (Dept. of Pharmacotherapy, Pharmacotherapy Outcomes Research Center)
• College of Health (Dept. of Nutrition and Integrative Physiology, Department of Health, Kinesiology and Recreation)
• David Eccles School of Business (Depts. of Finance, Management, Marketing, Master of Healthcare Administration)

We anticipate hiring one individual to fill the Scott M. Matheson Presidential Endowed Chair in Health Care and Health Care Management and at least three additional professors with expertise in one or more of the areas outlined below. Methodologist in outcomes modeling with a primary interest in developing and applying methods appropriate for health policy and health economic evaluation. These methods may be used to model health care trends, outcomes, and systems; conduct comparative effectiveness and cost-utility analyses; and assess patient-centered outcomes to inform decisions. This individual will have an outstanding opportunity to collaborate with clinical teams and use the University of Utah Health System data including Value Driven Outcomes, which combines clinical and patient-centered outcomes with health system cost data.
