Abdominal Imaging Radiologist
University of Utah

The Department of Radiology, University of Utah is seeking a radiologist who is subspecialized in abdominal imaging. The candidate should be fellowship trained (or equivalent) in abdominal imaging and have a strong interest in academic radiology. Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite. Active engagement in investigational research and extramurally funded research projects are desired. It is expected that this individual will contribute to a collegial environment that will promote the growth of the abdominal imaging section and departmental research. Depending on the qualification, this individual will participate in the department leadership. The academic appointment will be at a rank commensurate with experience.

The abdominal imaging program includes CT, MRI , ultrasound (including low- and high-risk OB US), and fluoroscopy, as well as image-guided interventional procedures. The section provides clinical services at the University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Institute (an NCI -designated premier cancer center), and multiple outpatient centers along the Wasatch Front. Currently numbering 10 faculty members with three fellows, the section is known for educational publications that are disseminated internationally. The Department offers an outstanding residency program in Diagnostic Radiology and an abdominal imaging fellowship program. Extensive imaging resources, including multiple dual-energy CT, MRI , and PET -CT scanners, are available for clinical work and investigation. Research opportunities abound, with a broad case mix from the sources described above, as well as the world-class unique support provided by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research ( UCAIR ): located within the Department of Radiology, UCAIR offers international expertise in imaging sciences, including basic sciences, technology development, MRI research, and CT and PET research. The Health Sciences offer various leadership programs and research training opportunities for faculty members.
