About the Position

The goal of Contracts & Purchasing Services Department is to acquire the products and services departments need at a reasonable cost, consistent with quality and time requirements, and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

The Contract Manager is responsible for providing advanced level expertise in the area of contracts and purchasing for specified or critical projects as well as managing and responding to the University's Public Records Act requests.

Under limited supervision from the Director of Acquisition Management, the
Contract Manager oversees the entire contracting process for complex and/or high dollar agreements which include but are not limited to Clinical Student Placement Agreements, Internship Agreements and International Agreements. The Contract Manager serves as the University's representative for management of, and responses to records requests under the California Public Records Act.

The incumbent researches, investigates, collects support documentation, prepares responses, communicates with CSU General Counsel as required, and assures compliance to Government Code §§6250- §§6276.48. The position has access to confidential information involved in the investigation of the records requests. Additional duties include prompt and accurate response to customer inquiries, delivery expediting and resolving supplier payment issues. The Contract Manager is responsible for supervising the Contracts & Purchasing Services Department in the absence of the Director of Acquisition Management.

This is a position in the CSU - Management Personnel Plan (MPP), and serves at the pleasure of the President. This position will require adherence to University compliance training such as: Conflict of Interest and Ethics, AB 1825 Sexual Harassment Prevention, Information Security, and Injury and Illness Prevention Program. The person hired for this position may be required to complete an outside employment disclosure statement in accordance with Title V of the California Code of Regulations.
