Assistant Professor of Assessment/Human Development

Full/Part Time Status:Full Time Service Schedule:Academic Year

Position Description:

The Department of Educational Psychology & Foundations at the University of Northern Iowa invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank to begin August 2017. The successful candidate will possess expertise in Assessment and/or Human Development. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, undergraduate courses in UNI's Teacher Education program related to assessment or development; graduate courses in assessment or development; and graduate courses related to the successful candidate's interests and research skills.This position will serve on and/or supervise masters' and doctoral committees in the College of Education.

Education Requirements:

Required qualifications include doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Educational Psychology (with an emphasis in Assessment), Human Development, or a closely related discipline by August 15th, 2017. Outstanding ABD candidates will be considered with strong evidence of completion by the start date.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated potential for or evidence of effective teaching and scholarship required.

Desirable Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit expertise in classroom assessment; research interests related to P-12 education and/or teacher education; expertise in one or more methods of data analysis (quantitative or qualitative); experience with educator preparation; evidence of ability to collaborate with other faculty and students on research projects; experience working in partnerships with schools or government agencies; community outreach; and evidence of promise in securing external funding.
