Faculty Position in Early Childhood Education

The Department of Education in the School of Arts and Sciences at The Catholic University of America, located in Washington, D.C., is seeking a candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in Early Childhood Education at the assistant professor level. The candidate must have an earned doctorate in early childhood education, human development, or a closely aligned field, and be able to provide evidence of research promise.

The successful candidate will: Serve as the coordinator for our NCATE-accredited early childhood program Teach courses in human development, early childhood education, and language development or emergent literacy Supervise student teachers Serve on doctoral dissertation committees Teach undergraduate and graduate students Conduct and direct research in one s area of specialization.

Special preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellence as a teacher, experience with culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and/or experience as a teacher of young children. Salary is commensurate with qualifications. The appointment is effective at the beginning of the fall 2011 semester. Candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
