Required Qualifications: High School diploma /GED. One year of full time experience in a busy medical office directly related to patient care. Must be able to accurately perform and record vital signs.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional years in a busy medical office. Bilingual Spanish.
Brief Description of Duties: The Patient Care Technician will assist physicians and ancillary staff in the daily functions of patient care in a clinic setting.
- Escort patients to examination rooms, record vital signs and advise physician of reason for visit.
- Prepare trays and supplies; prepare patient as instructed; and dispose of supplies as per infection control requirements.
- Assist with setting up and preparing patient and equipment for specialized procedures performed by other health care professionals.
- Order supplies and stock rooms ensuring that inventory is maintained.

Special Notes: This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Some travel to other sites within Suffolk County may be required. *This position is located at Tech Park, East Setauket.
