Associate Vice President of Human Resources

The Georgia Institute of Technology seeks an accomplished Associate Vice President of Human Resources (AVPHR) to provide strategic leadership in the development of progressive and responsive programs, services, and policies. With a staff of 70 and an annual budget of $4.8M, the AVPHR will be responsible for creating and sustaining an environment based on talent and career development, performance based management and accountability, recognition, integrity, and respect.

As a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU) with over 6,000 faculty and staff, Georgia Tech is one of the nation s premier research universities, distinguished by its commitment to improving the human condition through advanced science and technology. Georgia Tech s tree lined campus occupies 400 acres in the heart of Atlanta, with 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students in six colleges including Engineering, Computing, Science, Architecture, Management, and the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. The successful candidate will think creatively, lead collaboratively, and bring the HR organization to a renewed focus and ambition to best serve Institute constituents. The position requires a record of innovation in policy and program delivery, management and technical expertise in HR, experience in succession planning and in strategic planning that moves an HR organization tangibly forward. A bachelor s degree and ten years of HR management experience are also required. A master s degree is preferred.
