ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: September, 2010
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master s degree in an academic discipline closely related to the Division s principal areas of instruction (English or Math) or in a field closely related to administration of higher education and four or more years of teaching and/or administration in higher education in an institution of higher learning, including two years of experience supervising other professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction and supervision of the Academic Dean, the Academic Division Director - Developmental and General Education is responsible for program and curriculum design, the administration of developmental education programs, faculty selection and professional development, instructional quality assurance, program evaluation and assessment, budget and fiscal management and resource management of the Developmental Education Division. These responsibilities include such essential tasks as: directing and performing professional studies; performing analyses of learning skills; developing curricula; developing standards for faculty teaching competencies; selecting and training faculty; initiating and leading programs to attract and retain students in the Division s academic programs; developing and implementing effective methods and tools for measuring learning outcomes; applying effective methods of program evaluation and assessment; and performing such other tasks that may be necessary to assure the effectiveness and efficiency of the Developmental Education and General Education Division.
MINIMUM SALARY: $71,908 approximate annual.
