Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and D

Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students (AVP) provides leadership for selected departments (i.e., Center for Student Involvement, Office of Judicial Affairs, and Office of Community Service, Learning and Volunteerism) and serves as the institution s primary student advocate. Personnel administration, fiscal management, and policy decisions will be important facets of the Associate Vice President s responsibilities. In addition, the AVP will collaborate across the University with students, faculty, staff and the local community on various student-focused initiatives. The AVP will oversee an organization of 12 staff with three direct reports and a budget in excess of $2 million, including student activities fees.

The successful candidate will possess a master s degree and a minimum of eight years of successful, progressive experience in higher education administration. Evidence of strong strategic planning and leadership skills, program planning and assessment, multi-tasking and excellent communication skills required. Demonstrated familiarity with the role of the co-curricular experience of students in higher education, particularly as it relates to student development, satisfaction, engagement, and retention strongly preferred.
