Description:
The Ocean City Reporter/Host serves as WAMU 88.5 s and WRAU 88.3 s primary on air representative with the communities of the Eastern Shore of Maryland by providing local news and talk programming. The Ocean City Reporter/Host conceives, researches and produces short and long form news stories, features, programs, podcasts and digital media presentations including a one hour weekly talk program that illuminate local and regional news events and issues.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor s degree or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the necessary skills and abilities required for this job.
Minimum Requirements:
Demonstrated reporting experience in print or broadcast journalism. Professional on-air delivery. Demonstrated ability to handle live reporting and hosting of a live or recorded talk program and the ability to Combo anchor special programming. Willingness to develop very strong community ties and information sources that result in high-caliber reporting and program hosting for WRAU 88.3.
Additional Information:
The Reporter/Host will live in, or close to, Ocean City Maryland and his/her engagement will be covered by a telecommuting agreement with American University. Locally-produced short and long form news reports and features are very a important part of the overall programming provided by the WRAU 88.3 and WAMU 88.5 and are key to the stations reputations and images locally, regionally and nationally.
