Sharepoint Developer

Description:
American University's Office of Information Technology Enterprise Systems is seeking a qualified SharePoint Developer to assist in leading the application development of the new American University Active Campus SharePoint portal.

The position will work on most phases of applications development, systems analysis, and programming activities. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in planning, architecting, developing, and implementing the portal.


Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or bachelor's degree in another field and three to five years of progressive programming experience as an application developer, web developer, or software engineer.
Minimum Requirements:
Six years of application design/development and user interface design/development experience.

Three years of experience using SharePoint.

Experience working effectively in and fostering highly collaborative, team-oriented environments.

Experience in a higher education environment preferable.

SQL, SharePoint, ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, AJAX

Proven track record of Microsoft SharePoint portal development

Proven track record developing and implementing .Net programming

Ability to work with COTS applications using Microsoft .NET architecture

Knowledge of Internet Information Server (IIS)

Experience in Visual Studio.NET 2003+, and VB.NET / C#.NET languages.

Knowledge of software development lifecycle

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

Demonstrated ability to function independently as well as work with and/or lead a team in a collaborative environment

Thorough knowledge of and fluency with current web innovations and technologies

Understanding of web environments in large IT organizations

Ability to develop requirements for web projects

Demonstrated knowledge of information architecture principles and user-centered design principles

Knowledge of current best practices in web design, usability, and accessibility

Ability to create and maintain articulate, structured technical documentation

Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population

Passion for the Internet

Preferred Requirements:
Experience in a higher education environment preferable.
