Communications & Marketing Specialist

Special Education

Develops content and writes all educational and communication materials for the Center for Disability Studies in Literacy, Language, and Learning; establishes the strategic communication plan; works collaboratively with all internal and external partners, faculty and staff to convey the Center s goals; coordinates the dissemination of strategic messages with internal and external constituents; coordinates the Center s special events and displays; writes grant proposals for local, state, and federal levels; and works closely with the Center co-directors and program manager.

Bachelor s degree plus at least four years multiple media communications experience and at least one year of grant writing experience required. Demonstrated interpersonal communication, consensus building, problem solving, and networking skills are also required. Experience with electronic media; communication experience related to education, disability and/or literacy; experience producing video content and guiding operators of publishing, design and digital photo software; and database applications experience preferred. Student experience will be considered. Occasional travel and work outside of normal work hours will be necessary. Criminal and other relevant background checks required.
