Utah Valley University (UVU) is seeking a tenure track assistant professor to join the faculty of the Emergency Services Department in the College of Technology and Computing. The incumbent will teach courses and assess performance in emergency services or public management/administration. UVU is a diverse and growing educational entity and is engaged in many disciplines within the Public Sector, and offers Associate Degrees in Criminal Justice and Fire Science (with several concentrations), along with Bachelor s Degrees in Criminal Justice, Emergency Services Administration, and Forensic Science. In addition, Emergency Services houses the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy (a state-wide academy with one of the few incident command simulation labs and possibly the only mobile simulation lab in the nation), a Utah Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Academy and the Institute of Emergency Services and Homeland Security. Qualified applicants should have an earned Doctorate in Education, Public Administration, Communications, Organizational Development, Emergency Management, or a closely related field with at least five (5) years of full-time emergency services or public management/administration experience and one (1) year experience of teaching at the college level.
