IT Database Administrator (IT Database Programmer)

Position: The IT Database Programmer designs and implements OLAP data models using SQL Server Analysis Server. Designs and implements SQL Server Reporting Services architecture, including security scheme, report delivery, and SSRS Report Model design. Researches, selects, and deploys clients UI tools for performing data reporting. Responsible for performance optimization for reporting database, and database job monitoring, including failure recovery and notification.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, and /or related fields is required. Training in the use of relevant technology and supporting tools is preferred. Training in principles and techniques of databases integrity and security is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional database development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience working on similar type projects and technology is required. A minimum of 2 years working with database warehousing and OLAP data models is required and experience with MS SQL Server is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Technical knowledge in database development including warehousing and OLAP data models is required. Proficient technical writing skills. Ability to absorb requirements documentation. Competent and creative use of database technology and supporting tools is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates experiences with the following technologies:
Database: MS SQL Server
Languages: Proficiency in T-SQL programming and Familiarity with MDX
SQL Server: Experience with SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio. Experience with SQL Agent job creation, scheduling, and monitoring. Experience with DTS, SSIS, and/or other ETL tools
Application/Web Servers: Familiarity with Windows IIS, Apache
Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows (XP/Server/2000/NT/98/95), UNIX (Solaris/Linux)
Physical Demands/Work Environment: Majority of time spent working on a computer in traditional office environment.
