Director of Academic and Student Services

Governors State University is seeking a Director of Academic and Student Services for its College of Education. The duties include: Collaboration with the Dean, NCATE Coordinator, Assessment Coordinator and Division Chairs in coordinating NCATE and ISBE accreditation processes and team visits; data analysis and reporting at the local, state, and national levels; service as certification officer and administrator of local ISBE certification processes; participation in the management of program and unit level assessment systems and collaboration with faculty and staff to ensure data entry, data collection and data analysis for continuous program improvement, and maintain and update information on the College of Education's website and other COE social networking sites. The Director of Academic and Student Services will also coordinate special events and projects as directed by the Dean.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least an earned master's degree or equivalent experience with knowledge of educational systems, databases, and program management. Additionally, applicants must be excellent communicators, possess strong interpersonal and team skills and exhibit tact, judgment, and fairness to all.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in (a) National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) accreditation processes; (b) development and management of program and unit level assessment systems; (c) establishment and maintenance of effective interpersonal relationships with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, outside agencies, and the public; and (d) data analysis and reporting. Also an earned doctorate is preferred and grant development experience is a plus.
