Required Qualifications: Must possess an M.S.W. or Master's degree in Human Services, Sociology, Counseling or Psychology from an accredited school. Minimum of three years full time experience in working with children and families; knowledge of child welfare system; experience in developing training materials; and training/teaching experience. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver's License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations. Applicants must submit their operator's license number on their application form for a motor vehicle check.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the dynamics of sexual abuse. Experience in child welfare/child protection.
Brief Description of Duties: The Senior Education Specialist will coordinate all activities related to both the assessment of the training needs of ASRN's (Adolescent Services Resource Network) target populations and the scheduling of training.
- Assess and coordinate all ASRN training activities including the development (via outreach) and maintenance of training schedule.
- Develop and update training curricula as needed.
- Deliver sexual abuse training in Regions V and VI.
- Develop, plan and provide training activities as needed, including the annual Youth event and educational forums, etc.
Special Notes: This is a part time position, 22.5 hours per week, days and hours vary. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. *Travel will be required for this position.
