The George Mason University, School of Management (SOM), Office of Student Services is seeking a Career Consultant to provide a full-range of career management services to students with traditional, nontraditional and culturally diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities:
- Provide career counseling and internship and job placement assistance to students within SOM;
- Take a lead role in developing programs and services to enhance students' experiential learning opportunities, such as co-op and internship opportunities;
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with employers, faculty and student leaders;
- Provide leadership in coordination of programs and projects;
- Conduct workshops and class presentations;
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with employers, faculty and student leaders; and
- Research and develop resources for student use.

Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of training and experience; preference given to master's degrees with coursework in career development or a related field. Excellent written and oral communication; relationship management skills, including a collaborative and team-oriented work style; and the ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated proficiency in designing and delivering presentations and using Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of the local business community and job market trends, industry expertise, experience in higher education, working with diverse populations, and developing professional relationships are preferred.

A portfolio will be requested at time of interview. Portfolio should include evidence of projects created, implemented and evaluated.
