In addition to a public relations program that holds the Certified for Education in Public Relations (CEPR) designation from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) the Department of Communication Arts at Ohio Northern University includes programs in Theatre, Musical Theatre, Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Dance and Communication Studies.

Principal Responsibilities:
Teach a full-time course load of three courses per quarter for three quarters
Implement, report, and maintain assessment data on student performance for public relations majors/minors
Advise student-run public relations firm
Assist with advising of ONU Public Relations Student Society of America chapter
Advise majors and participate in university-wide advising for incoming freshmen
Engage in curriculum development and design, including course revisions, new courses, and requirements for the major, including overseeing the conversion to semesters and the redesigned curriculum
Maintain contact with other departments and colleges about public relations course content
Provide department/college/university service
Engage in scholarly endeavors, including publications, teaching overseas, and conference participation
Engage in peer reviews and classroom visits for faculty
Complete reports and gather information as instructed by department chair

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Public Relations or related field and/or Substantial Professional Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. with experience in teaching and/or professional work
