Grant Summary:
Funded through the Department of Health and Human Services, CCAC will partner with a community college in Virginia, Tidewater Community College, to educate information technology professionals in health care over the next two years. CCAC will provide training in the following areas: Implementation Managers (serving 100 students during the first year) and Trainers (serving 50 students during the first year). Both programs will be offered as non-credit programs through CCAC's Workforce Development Division.
General Summary:
The Project Manager for the HIT Grant will be responsible for all activities related to the grant including coordination with project partners and linkage organizations, recruitment, marketing/communications, program planning, materials, scheduling and program implementation.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor's Degree required (Master's preferred) in information technology, health care administration, or related field with three years of related experience; B.S. in Health Information Management with Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential preferred. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EMR) in a physician office or hospital setting and experience with community partnerships and liaisons preferred. Must demonstrate strong supervisory and organizational skill, the ability to work well independently with minimal direct supervision and represent CCAC with the utmost professionalism. Travel is expected.
Job Duties:
1. Responsible for the day-to-day grant activities and supervision of HIT grant staffing under the direction of the Program Director; develop and implement staff development and training programs.
2. Collaborate with Tidewater Community College consortium to provide information, committee service, and meeting attendance as needed or required.
3. Coordinate and participate in recruitment process for HIT staffing, including recruiting efforts to seek qualified applicants for HIT positions.
4. Provide coordination and support and serve as a consultant to the teams involved in the implementation of the electronic systems.
5. Manage projects budget; oversee and account for expenditures; ensure expenses comply with College Policy and Grant requirements.
6. Develop process and evaluate the effectiveness of training and implement changes as needed.
7. Serve as liaison between CCAC and its partners to ensure the grant outcomes are met.
8. Coordinate the purchase of materials and supplies for the program.
9. Conduct program evaluations through the collection and maintenance of data related to student participation, program completion, and post-program job retention information.
10. Responsible for grant reporting throughout the grant.
11. Design and implement marketing strategies and materials related to grant funded project along with the CCAC Marketing department and assist in distribution process of marketing materials.
12. Work with local and regional career/job placement organizations including local Pennsylvania CareerLink offices, Northside Leadership Conference, Mon-Valley Initiative and others.
13. Organize and implement the Trainer Program and Implementation Manager Program as specified in the grant statement of work.
14. Work with Career Services at CCAC and Job Placement Centers to place new workers.
15. Collect program data and provide continuous improvement strategies for ongoing programs.
16. Work within the consortium to provide information services and meeting attendance as required.
17. Work with CCAC's partners for recruitment of participants in program.
18. Work closely with program instructors for continuous improvement in all aspects.
19. Conduct ongoing analysis regarding data related to program services for reporting purposes.
20. Coordinate classes and/or programs in the area.
21. Perform all other related duties as required or assigned.
