Job Title: Registrar Director - CUNY New Community College

Job Description:
The New Community College (NCC) seeks an experienced and dynamic individual to lead the creation and implementation of systems, policies and processes for registration, enrollment, and academic operations, as well as other student services for the College during a one year development phase (commencing Fall 2010). Once the college opens, the Registrar Director will effectively manage a student-centered Registrar's Office that balances technology and quality data with efficient, convenient and professional services that support the College's curriculum.

The Registrar Director is the primary steward of all official collegiate academic records who manages all academic information, maintains/ensures the integrity, confidentiality and security of all related documents in accordance with FERPA guidelines, and ensures compliance with University and College academic policies and procedures, as well as compliance with Federal and State laws. The Registrar Director manages technology based student information services and systems essential to the College, including course registration, class scheduling, articulation agreements, degree audits, transcripts, graduation, retention, and progress toward degree completion statistics. Additionally, the Registrar Director promotes academic and enrollment strategic planning in alignment with the University's enrollment objectives and overall strategic goals by analyzing and reporting on data concerning educational policies, curriculum, academic and student performance to formulate policies. Moreover, the Registrar Director serves an advocate for the student body, and partners with College and University offices/departments to develop, implement, and enforce academic policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and eight (8) years of experience as a Registrar (or similar position) with evidence of progressive leadership responsibility.

Preferred/Other Qualifications: Advanced Degree and six (6) years experience as a Registrar with evidence of progressive leadership responsibility; Extensive knowledge of all administrative and operational aspects of a Registrar's Office, including course registration, grading, scheduling, transcripts and records, catalog preparation, and academic policies and procedures; Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret FERPA and various Federal and State laws that apply to student records; Experience with government and accrediting agency reports and regulations; Experience designing, developing and implementing an integrated student computer information system for registrar operations in a higher education institution; Ability to evaluate and assess systems, facilitate change processes, and possess a vision for strengthening service through the integration of best practices and ongoing investment in staff development; Managerial overseeing a similarly complex environment, preferably in a higher education setting, and training and developing staff of varying levels of skill and experience; Experience with ERP systems and re-engineering/re-organizing business processes.

Compensation: $68,803 - $116,364 Commensurate with qualifications and experience;

Contract Title: Higher Education Officer;

FLSA: Exempt;
