Job Description: Applications are invited for a full time 12-month non-tenure track instrument specialist position commencing August 16, 2010. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of subsequent appointments for additional year(s). This position requires the successful candidate to assist in managing the department's NMR and MS instruments. Instrument management responsibilities include assisting internal and external users in experiment design, basic maintenance, training of users, and insuring instruments are operating to specifications. The department is equipped with two Varian NMR spectrometers, 300 and 500 MHz, and two MS instruments (Waters Micromass QToF and JEOL GCMate). The successful applicant will be expected to collaborate with internal and external users, coauthor publications, and serve as co-PI on grant applications. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appropriate service to the university, community and profession is expected.


Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. (Chemistry) required for appointment as Research Assistant Professor. Will consider other titles based on degree and qualifications.
