Job Description: The coordinator for academic program development guides the multi-faceted academic program development process at East Carolina University. This position facilitates the preparation, campus approval, and submission of programmatic requests to UNC-GA to ensure that proposals and requests meet the stated criteria and comply with ECU, UNC, and SACS regulations.
These responsibilities include training potential program planners; coordinating and collaborating with faculty program planners, senior administrators, and academic and administrative committees; participating in the development of policies, procedures, and processes that facilitate academic program development; analyzing program development requests and information; and preparing academic program reports.
This position supports the associate vice chancellor for academic programs in the areas of assigned responsibility, leads office staff designated to assist with program development, and teams with academic program staff and administrators to implement the academic program oversight responsibilities of the office. Ideal candiate should have strong written and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications: A master's degree from an appropriately accredited institution or above is required. Five years experience in academic program development and/or the implementation of academic policies, regulations, and procedures in a diverse campus-wide setting is preferred. Demonstration of effective written and oral communication is required.
