Job Description: Greenville Utilities Commission - Purpose of Class: Assist the Water Quality laboratory staff with performing techincal, analytical laboratory analysis involving routine and non-routine microbiological and chemical analysis of water.

Equipment Operated: Personal computer/laptop, scanner, printer, calculator, copier, pH meter, spectrophotometer, ion chromatography, microscope, colony counter, TOC analyzer, Quantitray, dissolved oxygen meter, autoclave, incubators, and analytical balance.

Working Conditions: Work requiring the exertion up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires climbins, stooping, kneeling, reachings, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Candidate will be subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold and heat.


Minimum Qualifications: To be eligible for FEDERAL WORK STUDY positions, students MUST BE QUALIFIED and RECEIVE a FEDERAL WORK STUDY AWARD from the ECU Financial Aid Office (Old Cafeteria Complex, 252-328- 6610.
