Job Description: Greenville Utilities Commission - Purpose of class: Assist the Water Resources Engineering Section with special projects. With direct supervision and guidance assist in performing quality assurance activities on digital cartographic datal compiling and analyzing data for presentaions and reports; reading and interpreting maps. Reports adminstratively and receives guidenace and assignments from the WR Engineering Support Manager.

Equipment Operated: Computer workstation, related peripheral equipment, and other equipment as required.

Working Conditions: Work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires fingering, grasping and repetitive motions, vocal communication is required for expressing of exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to other accurately; hearing is required to perceive information at nomral spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data; visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operation of machines and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work. Outdoor work may be required for field data capture projects.


Minimum Qualifications: To be eligible for FEDERAL WORK STUDY positions, students MUST BE QUALIFIED and RECEIVE a FEDERAL WORK STUDY AWARD from the ECU Financial Aid Office (Old Cafeteria Complex, 252-328- 6610.
