Job Description: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, seeks a fellowship trained transplant nephrologist to join our group at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine in a tenure-track or fixed-term faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level.

This opportunity involves inpatient and outpatient clinic work as well as teaching of fellows and residents. Research time is negotiable.

Duties will include, but are not limited to: co-coordination of all acute outpatient transplant follow-ups; coordination of all chronic outpatient transplant follow-ups; ensuring evidence-based transplant protocols; compliance assurance assistance with UNOS regulations; co-coordination of pre-transplant evaluations; acting as lead consultant for inpatient acute transplant management; and serve as Transplant Director.

Inpatient facilities are state of the art and located at Vidant Medical Center, the regions only level I trauma center. The Nephrology Division at East Carolina University has 10 faculty members. Candidates should demonstrate initiative with strong clinical, teaching, and interpersonal skills. UNOS certification in Kidney and Pancreas required.

The successful candidate will assist in supporting the expansion of renal transplant surgery division.


Minimum Qualifications: Medical degree from an appropriately accredited institution.

Board Certification in Internal Medcine
