Provost/Vice Preseident for Academic Affairs
We are seeking candidates who are able to focus resources toward achievement of established strategic plans where enrollment and student success are top priorities. An earned Doctorate from an accredited institution of higher education is required with a minimum of fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in higher education. The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs must have expertise in higher education financial operations as well as significant fiscal oversight experience with a successful record of developing, managing, and monitoring budgets that are inextricably linked to strategic planning. A record of significant achievements and contributions in teaching and scholarship sufficient to justify the appointment to the academic rank of full professor is also required. A high level of collaboration, a commitment to teamwork, and exceptional listening and communication skills are critical. The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs reports to the President of the University, is a member of the President's Executive Team, and directs operations of the University in the absence of the President.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will also be expected to:
Provide leadership and management for the Academic units within the institution
Ensure that the academic mission and goals are linked to the strategic plan for the institution
Work effectively with the Deans of the colleges in managing the faculty and the academic program
Employ a planning and evaluation process in guiding the development of the academic program and the academic support units
Provide assistance with the recruitment of capable and academically well prepared faculty and staff
Ensure that the curriculum is viable, current, and provides students with preparation for graduate study and career opportunities
Ensure that Enrollment Management operates effectively to meet the needs of students
Review periodically all systems and programs in academic affairs
Maintain program and institutional accreditations
Have a commitment to the principles of diversity, fairness and public service
Foster and maintain partnerships with the university's external communities
Other duties as assigned by the President
