EMERGENCY PHYSICIAN

Job Description: The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University seeks qualified candidates for an emergency physician faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or above, depending upon the candidate's qualifications. Tenure-track or clinical-track appointments are available depending on academic interest. The Emergency Medicine Residency Program is one of the oldest and premier emergency residencies in the country, with 12 EM and two EM/IM residents per year. Many faculty are extensively involved in state and national activities. Pitt County Memorial Hospital is a 800-bed Level I trauma center, with over 100,000 ED visits per year. Greenville, N.C., has the benefits of being a very family-oriented community and a university town, located ninety minutes from the North Carolina Crystal Coast. The University excels in the arts, music, theater, and dance, so there are exceptional cultural opportunities, as well as sporting and outdoor events.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Pitt County Memorial Hospital. PCMH is the flagship hospital for University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.


Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a track record as an exceptional educator, possess excellent clinical skills, and be BC in Emergency Medicine. Physicians must be able to obtain a license to practice medicine in North Carolina; be granted medical staff privileges at PCMH; be approved to practice medicine through ECU Physicians, and receive medical liability insurance coverage through our carrier.
