The Division of Health and Physical Education announces a tenure track position in Health Education/Promotion.  Primary responsibilities will include the teaching of undergraduate courses in two tracks: the preparation of K-12 health teacher/educators and for a non-K-12 Health Promotion generalist.  Familiarity with NCATE and AAHE accreditation processes is preferred.  In addition to teaching responsibilities, the position involves student advising, service to the College, continuing professional development, and scholarship.  Preference will be given to candidates with a commitment to student learning, collaborative program building and a willingness to support the College’s general education program. The ideal candidate will bring a demonstrated track-record of working with students, colleagues, and community members offering and bringing multicultural and intercultural perspectives in the area of health education.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Health Education/Promotion or related field (ABD considered), scholastic and collegiate teaching experience with demonstrate effectiveness in working with students both in and outside of the classroom.  The candidate should also possess the interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively and collaboratively with faculty colleagues on issues of curricular development and management.  Proven teaching ability and knowledge of the use of technology for teaching are desirable and willingness to engage in research and service learning are a plus.
