Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Associate Vice President for Information Technology, to become a part of our team to continue our quest toward becoming a Metropolitan Research University of Distinction.

Boise State University is seeking an experienced, dynamic and accomplished technology leader to serve in its newly created position of Associate Vice President for Information Technology (AVPIT). The AVPIT will provide leadership for centralized campus technologies and build collaborative relationships with other campus units to support and enhance instructional, research and administrative technologies.

The AVPIT will report to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and will maintain a strong working relationship with the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and other executive leadership. The AVPIT will be an accomplished information technology executive with a demonstrated track record of leadership and management, preferably within higher education, and at a research-level institution.

This position provides strategic leadership to manage and oversee technologies to advance the University as a Metropolitan Research University. The AVPIT will:
work with other campus units to develop and implement technology to support leading edge pedagogy and high performance computing;
expand information technology support to a new generation of electronic and technology proficient students, faculty and staff;
lead the development of a robust and reliable technology infrastructure,
develop and implement campus information technology policies and procedures that meet user needs and provides the highest quality of customer service from information technology service groups;
lead the Office of Information Technology (OIT), setting goals and objectives to ensure success of technology innovations;
coordinate the other individual technology groups to create a collective shared vision and goals; represent the University s information technology interests regionally, state-wide and nationally;
oversee the OIT department s annual operating and capital budgets to optimize the use of available resources.

At a minimum you should have:
a Bachelors Degree
8 years of related professional experience of which 5 years must be in a leadership capacity
ability to demonstrate experience leading cross-functional technology teams toward project planning and budgeting, process improvement and efficient coordination of technology resources for entire organization
broad technical knowledge and expertise in enterprise technologies, infrastructure, information systems security, networking and telecommunications
excellent communication skills

The preferred candidate will have:
advanced degree
experience in higher education and a research environment
