SUPERINTENDENT/PRESIDENT
Under the direction of the elected seven-member board and a student-elected representative, and following the district board policies and the California Education Code, the superintendent/president is responsible for: overseeing the entire college, the planning, budget, and supervision of the academic and student services programs and administrative services; for ensuring the college meets the educational needs of its students and the community. The superintendent/president also demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
The salary, benefits, length of contract, and other terms and conditions of employment are negotiable, but will be competitive. The report date for the new superintendent/president is tentatively scheduled for July 1, 2010. The exact date is subject to agreement between the Board of Trustees and the successful candidate.
