Tenure Track Teaching Positions
Fall 2010

Successful applicants will be committed to excellence in teaching, student advisement, and learning outcomes assessment. Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate a variety of teaching methods and be familiar with current instructional technology. Preferred candidates will have experience providing on-line instruction and developing curricula. Appointees will be required to teach at multiple campus locations. Compensation will be commensurate with experience (entry level salary is $43,428). All hires are subject to budget approval.

Business  - Faculty position with administrative responsibilities. Master's degree required, Business preferred with a concentration and/or work experience in Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Culinary Science or related field. Assume the
role of Department Chairperson (release time and supplemental compensation provided). Five years minimum teaching experience required; community college teaching experience preferred.

Composition & Rhetoric - Master of Arts in English, composition, composition pedagogy, or literature required, Ph.D. preferred. Responsible for leading the departments initiative to review the colleges writing requirements. Experience in developing and implementing a first- and second-semester composition sequence
highly desired. Minimum three years experience teaching in a community college setting.

Computing Sciences - Master's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field required. Experience teaching Java programming and OOD required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the fields of Game Programming and Development and/or 3D Computer Animation. Teaching experience at the community college level with a focus on student success preferred. Immediate responsibilities include instruction in entry level
Java programming

Developmental Studies - Master's degree in English, Rhetoric/Composition, Reading, Reading/Literacy, or closely related field required. Three years experience teaching developmental studies courses such as basic writing, reading and/or study skills
required; three years community college teaching experience preferred.

Massage Therapy/Biology - Master's degree in related field required. NYS licensed massage therapist with 3-5 years minimum work experience in therapeutic massage required. Experience teaching Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue/Neuromuscular
Therapies, Massage Pathologies and Anatomy & Physiology required. Must provide evidence of dedication to quality teaching of therapeutic massage techniques in both lecture and lab courses. Assume the role of Coordinator of Therapeutic Massage and
Integrated Health.

Mathematics Instructor- Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field required. Ability to teach all freshman and sophomore level college mathematics courses highly desired. Community college teaching experience desired.

Modern Language - Master of Arts in Spanish. Minimum three years experience teaching Spanish at the college level. Expertise in on-line language instruction required.

Physical Science - Master's degree in related field. Teaching experience in college level introductory chemistry & physics lectures and labs required. The successful candidate will provide evidence of dedication to quality teaching of majors and non majors.

Psychology Instructor - Development - Master's degree required, doctorate preferred, in Psychology or closely related field with extensive course work in Developmental Psychology. Teaching experience in Developmental Psychology at the college-level required. Primary responsibility will be teaching Child, Adolescent, and Life Span Developmental Psychology courses. Additional courses may include Introduction to Psychology.

Viticulture and Wine Technology - Master's degree required, Ph.D. preferred in Viticulture or related field. Experience with cool season grape and wine production required. College teaching experience preferred. Day, evening and weekend classes in Introduction to Wines and Vines, Basic Viticulture Technology, Introduction to Enology, and Vineyard Management, as well as two field experience courses. Must demonstrate coursework in above listed courses. Additional courses may include Soil Science, Introduction to Horticulture, Plant Propagation, Environmental Science or Ecology. Will work closely with groups in the grape and wine industries, and manage internships and conduct workshops designed to develop specific applied skills in viticulture and wine technology.
