The Division of Global Affairs, an interdisciplinary graduate program, and the Department of Economics at the Newark campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, located twenty minutes from Manhattan, have been authorized to make a joint appointment in the field of Global Political Economy. The search is open as to rank. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in either economics or political science, but must demonstrate a quantitative, empirical research agenda in some area of global economics such as (but not limited to) global health, international trade or finance, international political economy, immigration, natural resources or global environmental issues. Candidates should ideally have prior teaching experience in global political economy. Prior employment in a global public policy setting would also be viewed as a plus.

The successful candidate will divide their teaching equally between the Division of Global Affairs (http://dga.rutgers.edu) and Economics (http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/~econnwk). The Division of Global Affairs offers M.A. and Ph.D. degrees; the Economics Department offers B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated capacity for effective interdisciplinary teaching in global political economy and an ability to teach aspects of applied economics, statistics or econometrics. Tenure will be granted in the Department of Economics, but responsibilities are equally divided between the two academic units.
