The Political Science Department at SUNY College at Oneonta invites applications for a Dissertation Fellowship in Comparative Politics and International Relations beginning August 2010. This is a one year fellowship. The successful candidate would strengthen or expand the department’s Comparative Politics and International Relations offerings. SUNY College at Oneonta is a comprehensive liberal arts institution that enrolls more than 5800 students with 475 faculty and offers 69 undergraduate majors and 9 graduate programs. Duties: Teaching duties consist of two courses fall semester and three courses (one of which is a senior seminar based on dissertation) spring semester. In addition, the Fellow will mentor students, deliver two public lectures based on their research, and participate in the life of the College. The department’s expectation is that the candidate will use the resources and experiences associated with this position towards the completion of his or her dissertation. Required Qualifications: Applicants should be ABDs. It is expected that a candidate has passed the Ph.D. comprehensive exams, and the dissertation prospectus has been approved by the dissertation committee. Preferred Qualifications: Area of specialization is open with any regional focus. Remuneration: Successful candidates will be provided with office space, office support, library privileges, and an employee benefits package. Salary: $43,000 - $45,000.
