The University of Missouri (MU) invites applications and nominations for the Dean of the Trulaske College of Business http://business.missouri.edu. Reporting to the provost, the dean will play a central role in shaping and realizing the broader academic mission of the University. The dean should have strong experience in academic administration that demonstrates the vision and administrative skills that will continue the College s positive trajectory. The Dean provides strong leadership in budget and fiscal management of the College, with ultimate responsibility for allocation of financial resources to best achieve the vision and mission as stated in the strategic plan. The dean also is deeply involved in hiring chairs, faculty, and staff, in conducting performance reviews, and in building a climate of excellence in all aspects of the academic mission. It will be particularly important for the Dean to be a strategic, entrepreneurial and collaborative leader to foster strong partnerships and develop interdisciplinary programs with other colleges in the University.
The Trulaske College of Business occupies a central position in the University. The College is located in Cornell Hall, a beautiful 150,000 square foot facility at the core of the lovely (botanic garden) MU campus in one of America s most livable cities. There are approximately 4,000 undergraduate students enrolled in the College and 368 in graduate programs. The College is organized in the following academic units: School of Accountancy and the Departments of Finance, Management, and Marketing. Its programs are ranked highly, and student demand is strong. The B.S. in Business Administration has specialties in economics, finance and banking, international business, management, marketing, and real estate. The Master s of Accountancy is ranked highly, as is the Crosby MBA program. The College offers Ph.D. degrees in Accountancy, Finance, Management, and Marketing.
The successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree or terminal/professional degree in a related field, exhibit experience in outreach to the business community, demonstrate knowledge of the AACSB accreditation process, and possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates who lack traditional academic preparation for this position may be considered if they have demonstrated exceptional private sector leadership as well as significant understanding of and passion for higher education.
