Asst. Professor-School of Nursing & Health Studies

The Nursing Program, within the School of Nursing and Health Studies at Northern Illinois University, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level to begin August, 2010.

Candidates must have a PhD (or ABD) in nursing or related field. Preference given to
candidates with a history of funded healthcare research, Registered Nurse licensure, a Master s Degree in Nursing, and national certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN). Candidates must demonstrate strong potential for teaching and research in nursing. The position will involve graduate and undergraduate teaching to a diverse student population, as well as research, university and professional service, and graduate student advising. Relevant professional work experience, especially in medical/surgical nursing, is desirable.

Northern Illinois University is a comprehensive teaching and research institution. The School of Nursing and Health Studies has nursing programs at the undergraduate and master s levels.
