Sport Club Coordinator

The Department of Campus Recreation at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC is seeking candidates for the position of Sport Club Coordinator (Program Assistant).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize and administer all aspects of a safe and successful sport club program including advisement, leadership development and risk management. Arrange for purchasing, maintenance and storage of equipment, assist with budgeting, facility requests, marketing/PR, travel, transportation, schedules and events. The candidate will hire, supervise, schedule, train and evaluate a student staff. He/she will also serve as liaison between a variety of university constituents including SGA and the Office of Student Activities and Leadership. The candidate needs the ability to coordinate the procurement of services, supplies and equipment necessary to conduct the program.

The Sport Club Coordinator will also assist in planning and operating special events in which the Department of Campus Recreation hosts, collaborates or sponsors. This includes new student orientation, Welcome Week, staff and student development events, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Physical Education, Sport Management or related field and prior recreational management experience (assistantships and internships are acceptable) required. Master s degree and NIRSA membership are preferred. Supervisory and staff/student development experience required. Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership/management skills. At least one year experience in a university recreation setting. Must have organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet work assignments, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines when assigned. Knowledge of student development principles and ability to provide student development opportunities for sport club staff. Current CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor Certification or obtain within 90 days of employment. Knowledge of Windows-based computer system and Microsoft applications. Travel, evenings and/or weekends are required as needed to manage programs and facilities.
