Nestled in the hills of Moore County, Tennessee, home of the world famous Jack Daniel Distillery, Motlow College celebrates 41 years as an institution dedicated to student success. General Function:
Motlow State Community College seeks an accomplished and visionary academic and community leader who will report directly to the President. The Provost will provide senior leadership in the development, assessment, budget, and oversight for all academic affairs initiatives of the college, providing high quality programs of study to the college s student population, as well as providing successful student services, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:
Provide leadership, direction, and policy formation for the development and implementation of successful academic and student programs and services that is responsive to student, service area, and college needs
Oversee the operations of academic affairs and student affairs, as well as the operations of the campuses located in Fayetteville, McMinnville, and Smyrna
Work collaboratively with the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at the Tennessee Board of Regents, the Vice President for Business Affairs, the Vice President for Administrative Services and Information Technology, and the Executive Director of Human Resources in coordinating all academic and student policies, positions, assignments, academic offerings, academic calendars, and in initiating new programs

Essential Experience and Qualifications:
Earned doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution
Impeccable history of ethical behavior and personal integrity, and a sense of humor
Demonstrated success in community college-level teaching with a minimum of 5 years experience
Exemplary record of academic administrative leadership with a minimum of 5 years experience, preferably as a Chief Academic Officer
Commitment to a comprehensive community college mission
Commitment to a student-centered learning environment
Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate a complex operation, effectively using human resources, time, funds, and expect accountability of colleagues and self
Demonstrated leadership and successful documentable experience in budget planning, development, and management within financial constraints, enrollment growth and retention, development of distance education and new curricula, strategic planning, accountability and outcomes measurement, and the ability to lead institutional effectiveness system reviews
Demonstrated leadership to the faculty in the development and implementation of new degree and certificate programs that support community business and industry needs
Commitment to supporting a climate of inclusivity that recruits, retains, and graduates underserved populations
Evidence-based successful strategies for student recruitment, retention, and completion
Ability to navigate through difficult situations by initiating and negotiating creative and collaborative solutions
Ability to make decisions in a timely manner with the wisdom to change courses when appropriate
Detailed familiarity with programmatic, state, and regional accreditation associations
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with student, faculty, staff and the public and form partnerships with external constituencies
Commitment to diversity and equal employment in the hiring of faculty and staff
Demonstrated ability to solicit external funding via grants, gifts, and partnerships
