Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services
Florida International University invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services.
Florida International University (FIU), one of Florida s 11 state universities, was founded in 1965. As of fall 2009, the University is ranked by the Carnegie Classification System as Research University-High Research Activity with $108 million in research expenditures. The University has two campuses: the 344-acre Modesto Maidique Campus in western Miami-Dade County, the 200-acre Biscayne Bay Campus in northeast Miami-Dade County, and a major research facility, the 40-acre Engineering Center, located near the Modesto Maidique Campus. In addition, there is the FIU Broward-Pines Center in Pembroke Pines, Macy s Downtown Center in Miami, as well as the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum on the Modesto Maidique Campus, and the Wolfsonian Museum, located in Miami Beach.
FIU opened the doors of its College of Law in 2002 and opened a College of Medicine in fall 2009. FIU is authorized to offer 74 baccalaureate programs, 82 master s programs, three specialist programs, 30 doctoral programs, and two professional programs. Since its inception, the University has awarded more than 152,000 degrees.
The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services will develop and execute well-planned strategies and tactics to shape the institution s enrollment goals by promoting the University in regional, state, national, and international markets; recruiting and admitting new undergraduate students; enrolling, registering, aiding, and retaining students; and providing smart, efficient and service-oriented processes to guide students through the enrollment pathway from recruitment to commencement. The Associate Vice President will report to the Provost and Executive Vice President.
The ideal candidate will have a an advanced degree with seven years progressively responsible experience and leadership in enrollment management in higher education, with at least five years supervisory leadership; a terminal degree in a related field is preferred.
S/he will also demonstrate strong evidence of sophisticated marketing expertise that produces results, and will possess an advanced understanding of financial aid packaging to support enrollment decisions. The successful candidate will have exceptional communications skills, written proficiency, and seasoned public speaking/presentation skills. S/he will have embraced the application of all current technologies to achieve goals in both Admissions and Marketing.
