Director, Career Services Center

The Director will provide the overall vision, leadership, and fiscal management of the named Bank of America Career Services Center within the Division of Student Life at the University of Delaware. The Director will identify and lead new initiatives to cultivate
relationships with corporate leaders and alumni to develop professional employment and internship opportunities for students. He/She will develop a robust employer base. The Director will supervise the Centers personnel and assure their ongoing professional development. The Director will develop positive and productive working relationships with an array of units including Alumni and Development, the seven University of Delaware colleges, New Student Orientation, First Year Experience, Residence Life, and the Center for Counseling and Student Development. The Director will collaborate with and provide oversight to satellite career centers as they are developed in various
colleges. The Director will oversee the development and regular assessment of career services learning outcomes and ensure the implementation and integration of the latest technology into the operations of the Center. The Director reports directly to the Dean
of Students/ Associate Vice President for Student Life.

A Masters degree in counseling, human resources, student development, or related field and eight years experience in a college career services office or similar management related experience with career counseling theory, techniques, and interest assessment
tools are required. Prior experience delivering programs to students, parents, and employers; management and budget experience; employer relations/ development experience; and knowledge of and experience with program assessment. Demonstrated skills in marketing, public relations, and fundraising. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity issues in the delivery of programs and services. Ability to utilize technology in the delivery of services and to work cooperatively with campus leaders,
faculty, staff, and students across a variety of units and divisions. Active participation in national professional associations and scholarly activities.
