The University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for teaching positions. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS, INDUSTRY, LIFE SCIENCE AND AGRICULTURE
Project Management /Business and Accounting (Assistant Professor)
Qualified individuals considering a change from business careers will be fully considered for the position. QUALIFICATIONS: A doctorate or ABD with degree completion by September 2011 in project management or closely related field, such as business administration, engineering management, organizational administration, leader-ship/management, or public administration is required. Applicants with closely related non-project management doctorates must have had significant graduate level project management coursework or 5-7 years professional experience in formal project management. Additional requirements: At least one academic semester (or equivalent) of experience with an online course management system, either as an instructor or student, a demonstrated commitment to or experience with racially diverse populations, strong interpersonal skills, excellent skills in English language verbal, presentation, and written communication, excellent computer usage skills, a record of outstanding academic and professional performance, willingness to teach primarily in the online environment, and a demonstrated willingness and ability to provide students with prompt, organized, and meaningful instruction and feedback. The successful candidate will work within the online MS in Project Management program and the Department of Business and Accounting located on the UW-Platteville campus. The responsibilities of this position cannot be fulfilled at a distance. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE
Chemistry and Engineering Physics (Lecturer)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach introductory-level physics and/or physical science, including labs. Also, teaching some upper-level engineering physics courses, depending on qualifications and departmental need. QUALIFICATIONS: A M.S. or Ph.D. in Physics or Astronomy or related field (by June 30, 2010). Candidates must have one year of teaching experience; two semesters as a half- time teaching assistantship in graduate school meet this requirement. Qualifications also include good communication skills with both students and colleagues; the ability to teach introductory undergraduate physics lectures and laboratories; interest in and commitment to undergraduate education; a demonstrated commitment to or experience with racially diverse populations. Chemistry (2 Positions) (Lecturer)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach general chemistry and laboratories. Develop new laboratory experiences and provide service in outreach. QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters in Chemistry or closely related field. One year of teaching experience is required (one year as TA is acceptable.) The successful candidate must be committed to under-graduate education and be prepared to contribute to the department in an area such as developing new laboratory experiences, service, outreach, and/or instrumentation. The candidate must also have demonstrable oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to or experience with racially diverse populations is also required. COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS AND EDUCATION
Counselor Education (Assistant Professor)
Responsibilities and requirements of the position are high quality graduate level teach-ing and counseling supervision, in addition to scholarship and service to the university. The position offers flexibility in the types of courses taught, scholarly work, research, and service performed. Qualifications: Completed or substantial progress toward doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, or closely related field, with completion of doctorate required prior to consideration for tenure. Successful graduate level teaching experience and clinical practice experience are preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate culturally competent experience with members of historically underrepresented groups, and commitment to diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, learning ability, physical ability, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation. Strong clinical, supervision, and teaching skills are required. Successful candidates will demonstrate skills using alternative and traditional educational delivery, as well as an ability to relate theory and research to clinical practice. Humanities-English (Poetry Writing) (Asst Professor)
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or M.F.A. in English completed by May 31, 2010. Candidate must have the ability and desire to teach composition and to develop and teach courses in poetry. Preference given to candidates with a record of publication and background in screen writing. Minimum of one year teaching experience required. Must have a demonstrated commitment to or experience with racially diverse populations. RESPONSIBILITIES: 4/4 teaching load, professional and scholarly activity, advising, and university and community service. Associate Student Services Coordinator (12-month, Academic Staff)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordination of international exchange and short-term, faculty-led international programs, marketing and promoting education abroad pro-grams to students, advising students, working with faculty to develop short-term pro-grams. QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree; experience working in international education and in marketing and promotion within a college/university setting (student employment acceptable); public speaking skills; ability to connect with students, faculty/staff, and parents; strong verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability working as an effective team member; demonstrated experience using MS Office Suite. Demonstrated commitment to or experience with racially diverse populations. PREFERRED: Master's degree; experience studying or working outside of the U.S. for at least four consecutive months; supervisory experience; ability to communicate theories of cross-cultural communication; fluency in a language other than English; experience leading and organizing orientations, training programs or workshops.
