Assistant Professor/Associate Professor The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking applications from board certified academic internists for positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, tenure earning non-tenure earning depending upon qualifications and level of experience. Candidates should have a commitment to academic medicine and will be responsible for participation in division teaching programs, ward attending and supervision of residents and medical students. The first position is for a clinician educator to provide resident supervision in outpatient and inpatient settings as well as provision of outpatient care in a private practice setting. The second position is for a research educator to develop scientific research and grant funding from federal sources and foundations; a focus on hospital transitions of care, quality and safety is highly desirable. The research position will have a secondary appointment in the Division of Preventive Medicine. The UAB Department of Medicine consistently ranks in the top 10 Departments in NIH funding.
