The University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair, Department
of Medicine.

The Department of Medicine at UCD and its 680 full time and over 600 clinical (voluntary) faculty constitute an extraordinary group of scientists, clinicians, and educators. It consistently ranks as one of the elite Departments of Medicine, public or private. In 2005 the Department, together with the rest of the health science center, moved to new and expanded facilities at the Anschutz Medical Campus. As a result, faculty numbers, productivity in every mission area, and patient volumes have grown. A planned expansion of University Hospital will only accelerate this growth.

The next chair of the Department of Medicine will be an exceptional, currently funded, academic physician leader, with proven values and skills needed to lead a highly successful Department. Further development of the departments clinical enterprise will be high on the new Chairs agenda, as will be continuing the Departments core legacy of academic excellence. Successful candidates will possess an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with ABIM certification, proven scholarly accomplishments, and national recognition in a medical sciences discipline.
