Multi-Year Assistant Professor of Spanish

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Baldwin-Wallace College invites application for a multi-year Assistant Professor of Spanish, Ph.D. in Spanish; native or near-native Spanish and English. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in Spanish language, literatures, and culture at all levels. Area of specialization is open with a preference for Latina/Latino studies and Transatlantic approaches to Spanish and Latin-American cultures. Candidate should be willing to support campus-wide Language Across the Curriculum (LAC) program and teach an interdisciplinary course. The appointee will share in the advising and coordination of the Spanish program, and perform general service to the Department of Foreign Languages and the College, including administrative assessment, and a willingness to teach outside the department. Baldwin-Wallace College welcomes innovative teachers/scholars dedicated to undergraduate liberal arts education, close faculty/student interaction, and who will be committed to the college goals of promoting intercultural and global understanding. Preference will be given to candidates with a commitment to student learning, collaborative program building and a willingness to support the College’s general education program. A demonstrated track-record of working with students, colleagues, and community members that offer and bring multicultural and intercultural perspectives related to the Spanish community.
