We, the staff of the Department of Residential Life, have a vision for our work, "Learning, Growing, Mattering: for every person, on every floor, in every community."

We are seeking individuals with diverse backgrounds who can help create and foster communities that strive toward this vision. This includes supporting the academic mission of the university by developing environments conducive to student learning and academic success, respecting, appreciating, and advocating for the diversity of our student population, and supporting the holistic development of all of our students.

Our undergraduate residence hall communities typically house 450-650 students. Our 17 full-time, professional Residence Hall Directors each supervise 8 to 12 Resident Advisors, student support staff, and collaborate with 1-2 Multicultural Advocates to lead them in the fulfillment of our vision. They advise and mentor student leaders to make a difference in the lives of their peers. RDs work collaboratively both within the Department of Residential Life/University Housing and on campus with talented Student Affairs and Academic Affairs staff to provide innovative services, programs, and leadership to the campus community. Residence Hall Directors are at the heart of what we do for and with students.

A Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, and Counseling or a related field and current work in residential life or student affairs is strongly preferred. Desired candidates will have working knowledge of student learning and student development, supervisory skills, successful community building strategies, conflict mediation skills, interpersonal skills, and experience working successfully with diverse college student populations.
