Department of Industrial Technology/Metal Casting Center
Coordinates activity in the Metal Casting Center (MCC) and Center for Advanced Bio-based Binders (CABB), including supervising students, maintaining safety protocols, designing and performing material tests, and facilitating projects; aids Industrial Technology faculty and MCC staff in conducting student and industry education; provides assistance to individuals, students, and industry trainee groups with center assignments; ensures that safety rules and procedures are fully adhered to by staff/students/trainees at all times; monitors use of equipment, materials and supplies; aids in establishing and maintaining operational systems; troubleshoots, analyzes and determines cause of non-functional foundry specific equipment; and supervises qualified maintenance staff in the proper repair of equipment.
Bachelor's degree plus at least three years of experience in foundry engineering, tooling, safety, or related field required. Associate's degree plus at least four years of experience in foundry engineering, tooling, safety, or related field; or a high school diploma plus at least eight years of experience in foundry engineering, tooling, safety, or related field may be substituted. Bachelor s degree in Industrial Arts/Technology or related field preferred. Student experience will be considered. Criminal and other relevant background checks required.
